It would certainly seem that most people really have no clue when it comes to getting the maximum accuracy out of their airsoft sniper rifles and or electric AEG airsoft guns. For example, most people over look the most critical factor when it comes to airsoft sniper rifles, which is the weight of the airsoft BBs that you use in the gun.

Believe it or not, the weight of the airsoft BBs that you use in your airsoft sniper rifle not only affect the velocity of the gun, it also greatly affects the accuracy of your gun as well. Have you ever wondered why so many people complain that their airsoft snipers shoot off to one side every time they fire them? Or perhaps they curve upwards when they shoot them?

The cause of these problems are almost always due to using airsoft BBs that are too light for your airsoft rifle. When you use a powerful airsoft gun, and you use a BB that is too light, the hop-up system of your airsoft gun will actually throw the BB off course, because it tends to make it spin too fast. And on top of that, things like wind become a much bigger factor when using light airsoft BBs too, especially when they are fired out of high velocity airsoft rifles.

Switching to heavier airsoft BBs can greatly increase the accuracy of your airsoft sniper rifle, especially at longer distances. It can completely eliminate annoying issues like your BBs curving upwards or to the sides, and it will also allow your hop-up system to function much better as well, which means that your BB will actually fly flatter and further, even though your velocity will decrease due to the extra weight of the BB.

Also, speaking of velocity, many airsoft courses put a cap on the velocity of the airsoft guns that you are allowed to bring into the airsoft games (this is done to prevent injuries and to keep pain to a minimum). If your gun over the maximum allowed velocity of the airsoft course, you can actually lower the velocity of your gun by switching to heavier BBs. While this may sound a little stange, many people actually do this trick, especially those that own the mower powerful airsoft sniper rifles. Sometimes it is the only way that you are ever going to be allowed into an airsoft game.

A good rule of thumb is that the faster your airsoft rifle shoots, the heavier the airsoft BB you will want to use. For airsoft sniper rifles that shoot 350 FPS or more, you will want to use at least 0.25g airsoft BBs. If your gun shoots at 400 FPS or more, use 0.28g airsoft BBs (or heavier) for maximum accuracy. If you have a high velocity airsoft rifle, which tend to shoot at 500 FPS or more, you will want to use 0.30g airsoft BBs at the very minimum (0.43g airsoft BBs are recommended in most cases though).

Last but not least, the other major factor that plays a role in the accuracy of your airsoft rifle is YOU. This may sound like common sense, but still, if you want to be as accurate as possible with your airsoft sniper rifle, then you should seriously consider using a decent bipod.

This will greatly increase the stability of the gun, especially if you lay down when shooting. Combine this with proper shooting techniques (such as holding your breath when you shoot, and gently squeezing the trigger of the gun etc.), and you will be well on your way to becoming an excellent airsoft marksman!
